On Sunday May 1st, we celebrated our Holy Family Feast Day. The actual feast day of the Holy Family is on the Sunday after Christmas (or if Christmas is on a Sunday, which is the case this year, then it will be celebrated on Friday 30th 2022). We moved the date to the first Sunday of May so that people aren't away for their summer holidays and we could spread our opportunities to gather.
And gather we did. One parishioner commented "Amidst the largest gathering of faithful I have seen for the past three years at HFP, the solemnity of the occasion in a fitting manner, followed by the procession culminating with the fellowship and International brunch was simply the best!"
In Fr Rene's homily he spoke about us being a loving, growing, living family and his call to action for us is to describe our dreams for our Parish.
If we had a Parish that is vibrant, with vitality and is viable - what would that look and feel like? Perhaps what type of spaces for prayer, reflections and fellowship might we have? What programs and classes would be on offer? What would inspire people to return to the Catholic faith or be open to start their journey? What would we need to contribute in terms of time, talent and treasures?
In the coming months we will be holding consultation sessions, beginning with groups within the Parish. We will also hold a number of day and evening sessions for all Parishioners to share their ideas and views. Please keep an eye out for the dates which will be published in the bulletin and email.
