The resuming of weekend masses a few days ago was a happy occasion for Holy Family parishioners. There were smiles and greetings as the doors opened and people were allowed to enter for the first times in months. Sr Michaela and her team had swept all the cobwebs away from Christ the King which looked and smelled fresh and welcoming. Up at Our Lady’s it was a similar picture with glowing marble and fresh flowers adorning the altar.
Each parishioner received a little welcome pack from the Parish Pastoral Council which featured a prayer card specially written to give thanks for the support and consolation received during lockdown; a little leaflet announced future opportunities and a bunch of lollies celebrated the sweetness of praying together again.
We plan to hand out these welcome packs for the next few weeks as parishioners continue to return to mass in person. If you are attending mass online, send an email to the parish house with your address and we will drop a welcome pack to your home: [email protected]
