Baptism for School Aged Children - Preparation with Children

At Holy Family Parish, the preparation for Baptism of school aged children currently involves:

• A Baptism preparation session with Parents and Godparents on the first Tuesday of the Month at 7.00pm in the Parish Office.
• An informal preparation session* with the children and at least one parent. 
• Attendance (children and their families) at the 10am Mass on the day of Baptism. Baptisms are held on the third Sunday at Our Lady's Church at 11.30am. It is customary for us to introduce the Children at the end of the Mass so that the Parish community can pray for their fruitful faith journey. 

*The informal Baptism preparation session with the children of school age is generally held once a year towards the end of the year before Advent. For 2023 the session is scheduled for Monday 13, November 6.00pm to 7.00pm in the Parish Office.

Application for Baptism forms can be downloaded from our website: https://www.hfp.org.au/sacraments and emailed back to the office.

Please note: All children, who are not yet Baptised and wish to prepare for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and First Communion in 2024, must undertake this session this year and be baptised before their First Reconciliation (which occurs early in the year). There is no 'make up session' early in the year.
