Helen O’Keefe must be the busiest retiree around.  Having retired from teaching in 2018, let's see how she keeps herself busy or should we say, the Parish keeps her busy.

There is a small army of volunteers that keep our churches and parish running, yet most of us hardly know who they are. Let us introduce you to one of them: Tony Sobredo.

Joan Proctor has been a parishioner at Christ the King for 52 years.  Joan and her husband, Jim, moved to the parish after getting married in 1969.  They had met at a supper dance just weeks before Jim moved to Mt Isa for work; Jim proposed over the phone and their life at the parish began after they bought a home in Braybrook.

Betty sees herself as being here, a member of our parish community, since forever. Many parishioners will probably recognise her but may not know her name.  Well, here is our chance to get to know Elizabeth Ann Linsley (nee Shaw), or Betty, as she has been called since birth.  [read more...]
